Andreia’s Biography

I was born in 1975, in Lisbon. Threads, fabrics, pens, nails, pencils, screws, sewing machines, hammers, brushes, saws, papers, scissors, glues, paints, needles… rummaged through my creativity. From tools, from learning techniques and from materials, and their potential, creative ideas have always come to me.

After teaching French and English for many years, I decided it was time for a change in my life and too give way to my passion and nature. So, in 2008, I started my jewellery training in Contacto Directo, in Lisbon, where I had the privilege to develop both an artistic and conceptual approach to my designs and at the same time get a solid basis on silversmithing techniques. In 2010, I was awarded the school prize for my ‘Lentilhas d’água’ (water lentils) ring.

Since 2011, I’ve worked with design, museum and jewellery shops, I’ve presented my work at Bijorhca Paris, Joya Barcelona, Noite Europeia dos Investigadores, in several exhibitions and I’ve entered a few competitions, from which I am proud to have been awarded again for my jewellery designs at the “POPs (Original Portuguese Projects)”, by the Serralves Foundation Shop, in Oporto. I have also been a jewellery tutor Centro de Joalharia de Lisboa for a few years.

I now work in a small art studio and shop, Pequeno Rebento, in Lagos.

I hope to meet you at Casa Creativa and let’s make some inspired jewellery together!
